OUR VALUES AND BENEFITS

Our skin is the largest organ of our body, it absorbs as much as 60% of what we put on. It is, therefore, important to be sure of what we use on our skin.

At Deserving Health, we are committed to providing the best care for our body. We believe in using only naturally-derived ingredients and the purest natural botanical extracts and essential oils to nourish and protect our body. This reduces our exposure to harsh chemicals such as Parabens, SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) and DEA (Diethanolamine), artificial fragrances and colourants, and synthetic preservatives.

Our products are made with certified organic ingredients and are biodegradable.  By combining science with safe and gentle formulas, our products create healthy benefits not just for our body, but also for the planet.

GLOSSARY

pH Balanced: maintaining the naturally occurring pH level.

Paraben Free: free of chemical preservatives. Parabens are chemicals used in products to prevent bacteria and act as a preservative.

SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) Free: free of sulfates that leave residue in the lungs, heart and brain and break down proteins.

Fragrance and Colorant Free: no perfumes or added dyes. Many colorants are made of coal tar and contain heavy metal salts such as lead and arsenic that can deposit toxicity onto the skin. Colorants can increase risk of skin sensitivity and irritation as well as block pores causing acne breakouts.

Hypoallergenic and Gluten Free: minimize the possibility of having an allergic response by containing few or no potentially irritating substances. Gluten can also cause issues when topically applied, not just ingested as allergies are an issue down to the molecular level. Gluten helps ingredients stick together (wheat as a source of Vitamin E) and add moisture to products (oats provide skin refinement and nourishment). Celiac-diagnosed individuals have trouble with gluten when in contact with the skin. These can be classified as “allergic” symptoms in forms such as a rash, eczema, swelling, bleeding and dry/itchy eyes.
